La Compagnie de Burgondie was created in June 2015 by Les Caves Bailly Lapierre and Les Vignerons de Buxy. This new Cooperative Union brings together their commercial, marketing and logistics departments in Burgundy. In September 2016 the Union was joined by AVB (Alliance of Vignerons Bourgogne-Beaujolais).
• Bailly Lapierre, renowned for its Crémants de Bourgogne and still wines from the Auxerrois region
• Les Vignerons de Buxy, famed for their Côte Chalonnaise wines and Premier Crus
• AVB, notable for Mâconnais and Beaujolais wines, including many “crus”.
The legendary roofs tiles of the Hospices de Beaune
From the Auxerre region in the North to the Beaujolais hills in the South, we cultivate the vines and produce the famed wines of Bourgogne. Proud of our origins, bonded to our history and our territory, heirs to an ancestral culture of vine and wine, we have created a brand that recalls the name of the first kingdom of Burgundy : La Burgondie. This is more than just a nod; it’s proof of the limitless commitment to our origins.
Fabrice, Catherine and Pierre Jean… three of our cooperative winegrowers
We are 1,000 families of cooperative winegrowers and specialists working with the Group and united under the banner of La Burgondie, from the vineyards to the cellars and from the offices to the outlets. We are vineyard owners, farmers or sharecroppers - but we share everything else. Thus we have linked our lives, for generations in many cases. We have matured through mutual projects and shared learning. We are now living the fourth generation of cooperative winegrowing. Fairness, sharing and solidarity are the values that typify our life of cooperation.
Henri, Jean, Mathieu and Victor… one family, four generations
We don’t believe in living in the past, even if we are aware of being well-born in our legendary Bourgogne. The vine and wine nourish a loving relationship with time. And deep within us, there is awareness of that time, the savour of patiently building and also the desire to transmit a living heritage to our children - much more than just land and tools. We believe in the future and we constantly strive to develop the fruits of our labour.
